WiredTrust was commissioned by one of the largest social game sites in the world. With millions of users worldwide and some previous bad publicity the client wanted to prove to the world that it takes social safety seriously by applying for the Socially Safe Seal.
WiredTrust’s technical and legal analysts studied the games, the website, the forums, and the company’s interaction with social networks in addition to all of the relevant internal and external policies and procedures. A number of large gaps in the moderation process and abuse report system were identified.
WiredTrust also provided guidance on dealing with underage users who came to the site independently or through a social network. WiredTrust also analyzed the company’s mobile site and games and instructed the company on how to ensure consistent user experiences with regard to abuse reporting and privacy.
The company has removed all of the underage users that managed to join and continues to offer new games and to grow.
Today, unlike before WiredTrust’s involvement, privacy, moderation, and abuse reporting are all addressed proactively rather than reactively
"WiredTrust is one of the most important leaders in the internet safety industry. We are proud to partner with them to help to educate kids and parents about this important topic."
